Your posts always come at the most opportune times. I'm reading my manuscript aloud to "hear it" and it's proving such a different way of revising. I'm even trying different accents just for fun and to hear my words in a new way. My poor family ... I'm recording it all so they can listen to it on our upcoming long road trips ;)
I have a wonderful memory of listening to A Tale of Two Cities on a road trip with my parents. My brother and I were probably around 9 and 12. We were appalled when my mother produced that fat plastic case that audiobooks came in when they were “books on tape.” Charles Dickens, ew! But we got so into it! I’m not surprised your class enjoyed the performance.
I love this so much! "Thinking my thinks" is in the running for my favorite phrase of 2024. And a t-shirt with "merriment and whatnot"? SO good. There's a future Substack title for you!
Love this!!! Now I’ll go think my thinks! 💕
This is just wonderful!

That's so excellent, Annette! Your family is lucky to get to listen to your memoir!
